About Skeeter Skwad Outdoor Adventures

Discover the story behind Skeeter Skwad Outdoor Adventures, born from a passion for the outdoors and a love for community. Learn about our journey, what drives us, and why we believe everyone belongs on the water.

Our journey began in 2018

Skeeter Skwad Outdoor Adventures was founded in 2018, amidst the global pandemic. Our mission was simple: to encourage people to explore the beautiful creeks of Northwest Georgia and find solace in nature during challenging times. What started as a local initiative has grown into a vibrant community.

The heart of our adventures

What truly drives Skeeter Skwad Outdoor Adventures is the incredible community in the Chattanooga area. We cherish every opportunity to get out on the water, share experiences, and create lasting memories with fellow enthusiasts. The camaraderie and shared joy are what we love most about what we do.

Everyone is welcome here

The Skeeter Skwad is a group for all levels of experience. Whether you've never set foot in a kayak or you're an avid whitewater paddler, you'll feel right at home with us. We believe outdoor adventures are for everyone, and we strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all our members.

Behind Skeeter Skwad Adventures, our team is made up of passionate paddlers and outdoors enthusiasts, dedicated to building a stronger connection between people and the waterways we love.

Chris "Skeeter" Bridges

Co- Founder

Skeeter is one of the co-founders of Skeeter Skawd Outdoor Adventures. He began his paddling adventures in 2013 with the purchase of his first kayak. It was an Old Towne Dirigo. He is a Cost Authorization Specialist for Homeserve USA, and is current in his CPR/First Aid certification. He is a member of the American Canoe Association and is currently working on his certification to become a Level 2 Kayak Instructor.

On his weekends off, you will likely find him paddling any one of the many Blueways in the Chattanooga region with family and friends, or on a hiking trail with his partner of two years, Clint Brantley.  His loves are his partner, family, nature, music, and food.

Jeff "Rain" England

Co-founder

Rain has been kayaking for the better part of 20 years. He has an extensive medical background from being a first responder/volunteer firefighter, and loves the Great Outdoors.

Currently, Rain works for one of the largest asset security companies in the nation, and on his weekends off, you will likely find him either on the water, at a festival, camping on Tybee Island, or chilling by a bonfire.

"Skeeter Skwad provides an amazing opportunity to connect with nature and fellow paddlers. Their dedication to inclusivity and education truly sets them apart."

A happy Skeeter Skwad member
